I was born in Saudi Arabia and was raised in a Lebanese household, among an international and pan-Arab community, spending summers and holidays in Lebanon with family and friends in my home city of Beirut. This diversified my experiences across various Arabic dialects as well as cultures and religions. With an American influence on my education, I stayed rooted in my Arab community while still maintaining a love for reading, science, research, travel and an interest in meeting new people, eventually settling in Dubai.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to be getting to know and helping people. This was and always will be my calling.
After graduating from an American International high school in Saudi Arabia, I moved to Lebanon to study Psychology at the American University of Beirut and developed an interest in education, philosophy, and creative fields such as art and music. I pursued some of these interests in the form of my studies as well as extracurricular pursuits which opened career opportunities for me later.
While completing my studies at the American University of Beirut, I pursued work experience working with children with special needs, in counseling positions under the School of Education.
My career began as a school counselor in Saudi Arabia and then in Dubai. I worked in education for several years, followed by experience in the corporate sector focused on consumer psychology and content creation. During this time, I found my calling which was to help people on a one-on-one basis, which led me to pursue my qualification and training to become a licensed psychologist in Dubai.
In addition to this, I am also continuously dedicated to humanitarian work to those affected by systemic, social, or regional injustice.
My individual therapy work is mainly with adults, and sometimes older teens (15+), using English and/or Arabic as necessary, mainly in Dubai. One of my favorite parts of my job is to get to know someone on a deep level, help them explore their timeline, their feelings, thoughts and behaviors, in ways that bring them transformative insights to help them move forward in life. My approach is eclectic and draws from several modalities depending on the needs and goals of the client.
I believe in the power of love but also the power of conscious commitment. I enjoy helping individuals and couples find suitable ways to work together to improve communication, resolve conflicts and strengthen their relationship. My work with couples is largely based on my training in the Gottman Method by John and Julie Gottman. I see couples in multiple clinics in Dubai.
